Dear George- While I originally thought American Candidate was a pretty cool thing to do, as I read on and on and on about it I surely wish as much energy could be put into the firing of George Bush as was put into this show locally. I was originally going to attend the town meeting but a business issue came up and I could not attend. I was a bit turned off by the confusion of it all and subsequent phone calls I received from the candidates wanting votes. It was just all kind of strange to me as to the reason for it. ShowTime needs to put on a show on how to get George Bush out of office - surely not to pretend that these candidates were running for office. But I realize it was all for entertainment and so be it. I suppose it was a good thing that Charlottesville got some national coverage and perhaps our issues in Virginia and our disgustingly Republican legislature could be brought to light. What is going on in our ultra conservative Republican state should be brought out nationally. Perhaps that alone can help to get John Kerry elected. Lord help us if George Bush is re-elected.
