Results are in from the two polls of Virginia voters that we've been following through this primary season.

SurveyUSA reports results from calls this week to 2,000 people. The preferences in the Democratic primary are derived from about 500 likely Democratic Primary voters (margin of error about 4%) An astounding 57% of the respondents said that it was still possible for them to change their mind.

"If the primary were held today would you vote for ..."

Creigh Deeds 26%
Terry McAuliffe 37%
Brian Moran 22%
Other/Undecided 14%

A month ago, the same poll had Deeds at 22%, Moran at 22% and McAuliffe at 38%, with Undecideds at 18%. So it seems that in the first three weeks of May, a fourth of the undecided formed an opinion, and all broke for Deeds.

In the full poll of 2,000 respondents (and a margin of error down to 2+ percent), Bob McDonnell still leads all Democrats

McDonnell / Deeds: 46 / 40
McDonnell / McAuliffe:46 / 40
McDonnell / Moran 47 / 37

There is one slight change from the previous poll, in that Brian Moran has moved up a bit.

On the other hand a Research 2000 poll for Daily Kos has it at:

Creigh Deeds 13%
Terry McAuliffe 36%
Brian Moran 22%

The previous Research 2000 Poll had Deeds with 16%, McAuliffe 19% and Moran at 24%

A significant difference is this poll shows results from 'likely voters' rather than 'likely Democratic Primary voters.' And in the head-to-head matchups they show a much larger gap between McDonnell and each of the Democrats, along with a larger undecided pool.

McDonnell / Deeds 45 / 32
McDonnell /McAuliffe 44 / 34
McDonnell / Moran 42 / 35

The primary election will be held June 9.
