Juggling is an art that is only limited by the skill and creativity of the artist. To limit juggling in any other way would deprive juggling of its purpose. As one man once said “to juggle is to find the most difficult way to do the unnecessary.”
What would be the point of juggling if we did not have freedom of expression? What, for that matter, would be the purpose of any art form, or almost any other form of communication without freedom of speech and expression?
Why do I bring this up, you may ask?
The juggler in this picture is in front of a monument in downtown Charlottesville dedicated to free expression. The monument is made of slate so that anyone who chooses can write freely on it in chalk.
It is also where a juggler or any other artist can stop and appreciate the freedom that we struggle to maintain.
