In 1980, Sissy Spacek won an Oscar for her performance in Coal Miner’s Daughter, the biography of Loretta Lynn. On July 30, 2005, Sissy and Loretta hosted the grand opening of the Charlottesville Pavilion, their first simultaneous appearance on stage in 20 years.
For someone who has said, “I started out as a musician and that didn’t pan out,” it was a pleasure to hear Sissy Spacek joke, sing and trade lines with Loretta Lynn before nearly 4000 fans.
