If we are about to go to war we may have to come up with an imaginative way to recapture the tax rebate.

It may, finally, be politically possible to put a high tax on oil and gasoline: finance the war against our mid-Eastern enemies and, by encouraging less consumption, hit them in the pocket-book at the same time.
