Dear George,

Currently, Charlottesville has, as far as I know, only three stone statues of women, all three of which show us subordinated to our male counterparts. Well, my apologies to the Breeden statue at Juvenile Court; I guess both the female and the male are subordinated to Marriage.

I dined at The Station yesterday, and enjoyed looking at the new statue, which adds several women to our meagre array. However, I don't think this cafe ornament at all meets the city's need to have an inspiring statue of an historic or symbolic female (horse not necessary).
