Dear George, The discussion of the tax rebates has been interesting. Lloyd Snook's information, however, only leads me to argue that, with people like Lieberman, Democrats are scarcely free of poorly-planned tax policy. For those of us who opposed all aspects of this help-the-rich tax bill and who can do without the rebate (I take Ray Barry's points to heart) I still suggest that we give our money, as Mary and I intend to do, to activist organizations working locally in opposition to the very things the Bushites champion. Our choices are the Labor Action Group and the Virginia Organizing Project, both of which are very much in need of additional funding to pursue grassroots democratic organizing to make our community and state a better place.
