There were also many Republicans opposed to FDR's policies on Hitler and Japan--think of what might have been the case if the Duke of Windsor had spoken to Republicans in Congress condemning FDR's concerns about Adolph Hitler (the DUKE supported Hitler) or FDR's pushing to rearm the island of Guam that the Republicans opposed and called it "Guam With The Wind" when they triumphed in the vote, calling it a "provocation to Japan" (The Japanese military took Guam in seventy two hours following the attack on Pearl Harbor)
