George,
I am reluctant to give the madness of the "Trump Phenomena" the time it takes to mention the name, but I can't help drawing some comparisons to history. Spanish born philosopher George Santayana is most noted for his statement, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to relive it" (or words to that effect). Adolf Hitler was thought of as a fool in the early years of his evolvement, even jailed for his nefarious activities! Donald Trump, as he demagogues his tale of lies, hate, misinformation, has discovered his "devil." It amounts to largely Mexican immigrants he claims are "sent" by the Mexican government in the form of criminals, murderers, rapists, etc. Hitler's "devils" largely centered on Jews, of course, but he eventually included gypsies, Jehovah Witnesses, homosexuals, the mentally and physically impaired, etc. As the Nazi "Reign of Terror" evolved, in early November of 1938, thugs and citizens went on a rampage that became known as "Kristallnacht." It centered on Jewish businesses, homes and synagogues. Hundreds of Jews were murdered, thousands of businesses looted and destroyed, hundreds of synagogues burned. German authorities did nothing to stop the nightmare. And, if this wasn't enough, Jews were ordered to make reparations and pay for the damage! This all coming in a nation with probably the most evolved culture on the planet Donald Trump says he'll make the Mexicans pay to build an "impenetrable wall." Now the scary part--he leads all of the Republican contenders in recent polls, and his venue for his "speech" in Arizona has had to be changed to accommodate the bigger crowd! When former president Bill Clinton came to the Paramount theater to campaign for candidate Terry McAuliffe, his final advice was for all to remember "zealots vote." Hopefully, Trump is just a flash in the pan and a buffoon. Hopefully.
