Although the Democratic ground game may still be the best in the land, the GOP beat us on the mind game. They spent the past two years, at least, road blocking everything Obama tried to do, all the while using this strategy to show how ineffective he has become. Did any of the Democratic base think that continued control of the Senate would lead to any better outcomes?

I think we know that voters will come out for change, but now know for sure will not come out to protect the status quo. This bodes ill for a campaign in 2016 that must be much about who gets to pick the next generation of Supreme Court Justices. The Democratic brand desperately needs refreshing if we are to win against conservatives whose default position is "no".
