George, So far in the madness of the right wing gang saying, essentially, "My way or the highway" regarding The Affordable Health Care program, I have not read nor heard one comment as to what the real motivation is behind the lunacy. If lessons of the past teach anything, the extremes of both parties, but especially the Republicans, have opposed anything remotely resembling social legislation that provides for the General Welfare. The greatest of their "united front against" was Social Security legislation in the nineteen thirties. It was compared to communism, socialism and just about any -ism they could conjure up. As Social Security matured and became more popular, it was the "third rail" of politics to oppose it. Next, in my opinion, was Medicare--it was socialized medicine, government taking over heath care for the older citizens, the people losing fundamental freedoms etc.--a pariah of the first magnitude. But, once again, Medicare is an enormously popular progressive piece of social legislation, where, ironically, even the crazies of the Tea Party hold up signs, spelled correctly (usually), "Hands Off My Medicare!" Now, once again, in the eyes of the extremists "the wolf is at the door" and if they can't lie or propagandize it to death, it will evolve to where the people will wonder what life was like before "Obamacare." It's the Hate Government in all forms by a heavily financed group of Plutocrats and their ignorant minions, who were cozily ensconced in Romney's philosophy of the 47%. Scary as it is, it's nothing new.
