I am proud to enthusiastically endorse Jason Vandever in his bid to continue as Charlottesville's Treasurer. I hope you will join me in supporting Jason Vandever in the April 2nd special election, and again in both the June 11th Democratic primary and the general election on November 5th. If I am elected to be your Commissioner of the Revenue, I will be working closely with the Treasurer. Part of what motivated me to seek the office of Commissioner was the knowledge that I would be working closely with bright, energetic public servants like Jason. We were extremely fortunate to have had Jennifer Brown as our city Treasurer for nearly 20 years. As her Chief Deputy for the past five years, Jason took charge of efforts to expand payment options for citizens, and to reduce the costs of payments. With his experience, Jason is uniquely positioned to continue to lead the Treasurer's office. He understands that modernization is an ongoing process, not a one-time event. Jason is deeply committed to Charlottesville and recognizes that constitutional officers are directly accountable to the citizens that elect them. We need to remind all of our friends and neighbors to vote for Jason on April 2nd. Click HERE to join me in volunteering for Jason's campaign between now and the special election.
