I am incapable of understanding how any woman with even fundamental intelligence and a sense of self worth and dignity can support any organization, political or otherwise, that has as one of its principal tenets the total degradation of a woman and her basic rights.

The recent legislation by the radical right, principally dominated by the Tea Party, is just one of many examples. The anti abortion legislation language borders on a "barefoot and pregnant" role for women. Almost every Republican thinks this is just fine..

Almost exclusively the design of all male committees, some of the language borders on insanity! For example,one of the principal underwriters of the bill decides that, Todd Akin style, women rarely get pregnant from rape,and even if they do, surely they should not wait twenty weeks to do anything about it! Hence eliminate rape as a cause to seek a termination of the pregnancy resulting from a brutal crime!

The legislation allows termination of pregnancy if the life of the woman is threatened but the health of a woman is not a concern.

This "jihad" against women is threatening to our basic freedoms and our democracy. Women and men must do all within reason to stop these crackpots before further damage.
