On Nov. 28, the University of Virginia Center for Politics hosted the 14th annual American Democracy Conference. The event brought together leading journalists and political experts to examine the outcome of the 2012 election and what it means for the country, the parties, and public policy.

The conference featured three panel discussions, each with audience question and answer sessions. The first panel reviewed the 2012 election results, focusing on what happened and why. The second examined the political future of the country, particularly the prospects of the two major parties. The final panel discussed the politics of policy as the fiscal cliff looms.
