George, What better person to put a right on perspective about the furor created by Sen. Reid, than Uriah Fields eloquent statement it should be printed in every major magazine and newspaper in the US, especially in the South. The reality is, as Uriah wrote, that light skinned African-Americans have a better chance to get elected where there are a lot of white voters. Especially one running for president of the United States! What is critical, for me, was the intention of Sen. Reid. It was not what he said, but how his unfortunate choice of words.
