George,

This is outrageous--that Virginia Republicans would deny increased benefits for the unemployed of this state. A paltry $25.00 a week (federal money not state money) could make all the difference for an unemployed person. Pay an electric bill, put gas in the car to LOOK FOR A JOB, buy food for their children and the list could go on and on.

So what are the Democrats going to do about this? Call a special session, put a sunset clause in and maybe the Republicans could be coaxed into voting for it?

WHAT IS THE PLAN I want to know. What is even more disturbing is that our so called liberal media hasn't even covered this story locally. For the thousands of unemployed here in our community I'm sure it would be quite helpful to actually know that their benefits won't be increased afterall, that part time workers WILL NOT be able to get benefits, that if a worker has a loved one who becomes ill or disabled they CANNOT COLLECT unemployment benefits.

All brought to you by the Republican Party of Virginia.

So again I ask--WHAT IS THE PLAN? Is there one or are our politicians going to throw up their hands and say oh WELL too bad. Can't help it, I voted for it.

I call on Governor Kaine to call a special session and for our local media TO WAKE UP and cover this story. Put these politicians on the spot for a change. Sunlight is the best remedy..
