George, This [Even With Obama, the Black Vote Isn't Certain] is more about national than state politics. I agree with one of my former graduate students, a leading expert on contemporary politics, who says that, in future, only multicultural parties will win national elections. The question Republicans must answer is how can they attract African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and young people. Because of the values they hold they probably can't do this.
