I saw a column in the Progress on the fact that the City has a big surplus and is considering using the funds to finance wireless Internet for the schools. Call me a simpleton but if you were not going to refund the taxpayer and you thought the schools needed the funds ... wouldn’t hiring more teachers so kids could get one-on-one teaching? I have no magic bullet for the challenges of teaching kids from troubled homes. I just no that more attention from adults has been proven to work. It worked for me. When I went from a class size of thirty to seven, I couldn’t slip through the cracks.

Again, I really don’t know C-ville School specifics. It’s just an idea
