Why
I am running for Charlottesville City Council:
I moved to Charlottesville in 1981, and have grown to love the city.
Since 1997, Ive been actively involved in a broad range of local public
policy issues, and Im convinced that council members need broad experience,
enthusiasm, and creative leadership to govern Charlottesville so that the
city will work for all its residents. I have the desire, training, and leadership
skills to move Charlottesville forward over the next four years.

Major themes in my council campaign:
- Public Involvement - Council has to communicate clearly, fully, and
promptly on council matters, so residents can actively shape Charlottesvilles
future.
- Transportation - Public transportation needs to grow with the city,
and as part of a regional system.
- Growth/Environment - City services overseeing building and development
must protect cultural and historic resources, preserve our local and global
environment, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Engage Neighborhoods - Neighborhoods must be engaged in council decisions
that affect their homes and businesses.
