George,

I will say this about all of the changes being made in our election system. (Florida and South Carolina moving up their primaries, California changing the apportionment of their electoral votes, etc. etc.) Once the campaign has begun, it is totally inappropriate to change any rules. We don't allow the rules to be changed once a sports contest starts. Why do we accept rule change during elections for the most important office in the world? (The only sport I know of where the rules are made up as the game goes along is professional wrestling.) If people see the need to change the rules, it should be done well before the campaign begins and after careful discussion.
