I have finally figured out the Bush-Cheney strategy for defending America against the extremist Islamo-fascist terrorists. President Bush has said repeatedly that our enemy hates us because we have freedom. If we reduce our freedom enough, our enemy will no longer hate us and thus not attack us.

Unchecked Presidential power, warrantless eavesdropping, denial of habeas corpus to detainees (including American citizens) who are "thought to be supporters of terrorists", kangaroo courts -- that's the ticket. Bush and Cheney have made us free from attack from those who detest freedom.
