George,

[Uriah Fields asks] "Perhaps you can let me know why do you think the Editor of "The Daily Progress" refused to publish this hand-delivered letter that speaks complimentarily of one of their distinguished columnists? ...."

Well, it's isn't called the Daily Regress for nothing! And we all know Media General owns the paper and its publisher. It is virtually impossible for local organizations to get op-eds published. I often wonder if this newspaper is here to serve our community or to serve their corporate masters? But I do take heart that at least we have Bob Gibson, Aaron Kessler, Liesel Nowak writing for the paper. They seem fair minded. And we have the much more liberal Hook and C'Ville Weekly--thank goodness.

Wish someone would pony up and start another daily. But then again, this is the state of the supine, Republican, and lazy media. Perhaps on Wednesday morning when we begin to take back our country the media will wake up.

One can only hope.
