George,
I was referencing Mr. Schilling's and his supporters generally using
"only," "everything," and "never" many many
times to try to make the public think that Mr. Schilling is the city's answer
for progress.
I have not seen Schilling as accomplishing anything by his own hands in
and about city council. I feel that Hawkins is trying
to give the impression that the other members on council are not doing
their part to improve the city. Maybe Schilling does not understand that
teamwork means compromise and hearing everyone's opinions.
Unfortuately tonight, I have heard from a dear friend of mine that Schilling
is the "only" one for the people. She has fallen victom to his
ads that promise action but do not show actual facts to what he has done.
She also told me that she received a phone call telling her to vote for
Rob Schilling and no one else. I find that information very sad.
Also, Mr. Hawkins seems to want voters to write in another candidate that
did not come forward to have encourage votes for him. Does Charles Weber
really want to be on City Council? What happens if his name is written in
and he does not want to be on Council. Is voting for a non-candidate a showing
that Mr. Hawkins wants his supporters to someone that might leave the other
seat open if Schilling does well tomorrow?
I hope that the citizens of Charlottesville can see a clear winner in Dave
Norris and Julian Taliaferro and vote Democrat all around.
