Dear George, I write in regard to the defeat of Danny LeBlanc for the Secretary of the Commonwealth. This is a sad day for Virginians. That partisan politics now rule well EVERYTHING. The huge amount of disrespect shown to our newly ELECTED governor. That Republicans are so sore about losing the gubernatorial race (or their precious right to work for less law) that this is how they react. It is really quite sad that these guys are running our state. Heck of a job boys. I really love the fact that the Virginia republicans can sure dish it out but cannot take it when someone dishes it out to them. Then you see all kinds of howling and screeching. Really kind of funny, I think, to watch them in action. What hypocrites--especially when Governor Kaine tried to reach across the aisle in his other appointments such as Preston Bryant and Marty Kilgore. We sure can see who the better man AND the better party is here. Personally I'd like to thank Creigh [Deeds] and David [Toscano] for standing up for what is right and to blast Rob Bell for going along with the dirty politics of his party. Danny is a good man, a fair man, and a kind man. He certainly didn?t deserve this treatment after all he has given to the working men and women of Virginia--you know, the CONSTITUENTS who elect our legislators??? Does anyone remember us? But you know what they say, what goes around comes around. I'll be waiting with high anxiety for that day. - Jan Cornell (electronic mail, March 9, 2006)
