George,

The recent intolerance at the University of Virginia and in Charlottesville to gay students, black students, women students and others is extremely alarming too me. Charlottesville is the liberal oasis of one of the most conservative anti-gay states in the nation and to hear about incident after incident of anti-gay, racist and sexist bigoted acts saddens me.

It is time that the University community along with the Charlottesville community come together to fight this intolerance, and put an end to it.

This type of behavior not only reflects poorly on the University but also on the City of Charlottesville. I urge UVA officials and Charlottesville leaders to join together in the upcoming days and weeks to fight and put an end to this intolerance.
