Dear George

In the past few months it has come to my attention that certain individuals in our community have been saying that SUUVA/CWA isn't a REAL union because we don't have bargaining rights. Or that you cannot form or join a union in Virginia, which is hogwash. I doubt I would have quit my job at UVA for an organization that isn't "real" or is "illegal". I don't think any public official, candidate, or elected politician has any right to go around undermining what we are trying to do here. I mean, why would they? Is giving a voice to UVA employees so bad? Does everyone REALLY think UVA "takes care of their own"? PLEEEEZZZ. Anyone with half a brain who watched the charter fight evolve knows THAT isn't true. We have made huge strides in the past 3 years-this is a 10 year project by the way, in case anyone thought we would have 5,000 members in 3 years.

So I am here to say I will hold folks accountable for their words. In public. In the media. In Richmond.

See a letter written by my boss 2 years ago to your web site. It is as true today as it was then.
