George,

Last week I received a mailing endorsing Jerry Kilgore for governor, paid for by the Republican Party of Virginia. The main point of this flyer was that if Kaine were elected governor, the price of gasoline would rise due to new taxes. The flyer contained an illustration of a gas pump with the words "arm" and "leg" imposed where the price of gasoline would normally be. The flyer went on to say that if Kaine were elected gasoline would cost an "arm and a leg."

As we are involved in a war in an oil producing country that has already claimed the arm, legs, and more of thousands of our military men and women, I believe that this advertisement is inappropriate and offensive, and in fact, obscene. Unfortunately, I do not find it surprising.
