I just got a robo-call from the "Honest Leadership for Virginia" PAC, which is the arm of the Republican Governor's Association that is funnelling money into Virginia. It was a taped message, in Tim Kaine's voice (I assume edited from previous public statements), reciting his conservative positions on social issues, including his support for the ban on partial birth abortions.

Because it was directed to our home, there is only one reason for the call -- to try to convince me that I shouldn't bother to back Kaine.

This is what is known as a "Voter suppression" call. Or "KOTV" -- Keep Out The Vote.

Only if you have access to the Internet could you check to learn that the Honest Leadership for Virginia PAC is a Republican organization.

More dirty pool. But then, that is hardly surprising.
