Since we have moved to the county, we cannot vote in this election and I feel a bit disenfranchised because I lived in the city for about 36 years and all three of our children went through the city schools. But if I could, I would vote against an elected school board. I think the present system is open and democratic and most importantly, I think that we will lose many good people willing to serve on the school board but not willing to become politicians to do so, if we change to an elected school board.

The unfortunate situation in the City School System last year could have happened under an elected school board also.
