I found David Brown's words about the school board right to the point. He placed the blame for the public display of dissension between parents, the school board and the superintendent right where it belongs: with the school board.

After all, the board is authorized to formulate policies and administrative practices for the schools. The most important job the board has is to dissect and approve the budget and I saw little of that in the newspaper accounts.

Maybe we need an elected school board.
