George, How can I turn yesterdays election results into my victory? Karl Rove cynically said they make reality while we study the reality they made. Bushs handlers could be the architects of US failure in the next 50 years. The United States will down slide into history due to their arrogance, greed, and short sidedness. The bush people want to corprotise everything down to the last drop of water. United States Inc. They want to get rid of government and all protections the government guarantees its citizens who otherwise would be crushed by big business in their rush for obscene profits. Currently there are 10 million internal combustion engine cars spewing out tons of pollution in China. In the next several years car ownership will increase to over 600 million gas burning cars. This will translate into huge profits for a tiny fraction of investors. What will China and its environment get in return? It will get filthy air, farm land paved over in concrete, and isolation from each other whiling away hours sitting in congested traffic. The United States has already proved what happens to the environment with the thoughtless proliferation of the auto culture. Why does China appear to be poised to make the same mistakes? Where is all the gas going to come from? The US, China and every other gas thirsty country will be fighting and killing each other for an ever dwindling pool of oil. Its going to run out folks. It is just a mater of time. China will defeat us because they have more people to use as canon fodder then we. Or we (the US government run by a spawn of bush, no doubt) will defeat them with nuclear bombs launched in a pre emptive attack to get them before they get us. I can imagine another world into reality. I can imagine a leader who will lead us away from a corporate take over toward energy independence. I will support any one who respects and protects the environment, who believes in the common wealth for the common good, and who stands accountable before the people. Joan Schatzman (electronic mail, November 3, 2004) Note: Joan adds: We democrats are leaders, not victims. I have come up with some ideas as we face the future. The Democrats have to have a new language. We have to inspire people that government is good because it protects us from the selfish and greedy. It is evil to dismantle the government for the sake protecting powerful rich. We have to speak about the morality of preserving the commonwealth for the common good. It is evil to use up our national resources for the sake of personal profit. We have to inspire people to the goodness of honoring and protecting our environment. It is evil for businesses and corporations to dump waste into our air and water. Lets think big. Joan Schatzman (electronic mail, November 4, 2004)
