The DeanforAmerica blog (now DemocracyforAmerica) was an important part of Howard Dean's campaign. I checked in each night to find out up-to-date news of the campaign. In addition bloggers posted ideas for the campaign and links to other sites for information. It became a real community and some of the regulars are well known to us. When we meet them in person (I met some at the Women's March in DC) we immediately know each other. The DFA blog remains active 24 hours per day. My daughter in Paris stated "the Dean blog renewed my faith in America and Americans."
