George, Surely, we recognize that Michael Moore is, first and foremost, a movie producer with a touch of the Hollywood tendency to "selectively" exaggerate, often ,take statements from context and aim towards his bias. However, it is virtually impossible to overstate the failures and deceptions of the Bush Gang. Moore just scratches the surface;perhaps doesn't go far enough. Unlike Mel Gibson, who with his production of "The Passion of the Christ", made his own determination of the facts and grossly distorted the historical accuracy of the last days of Jesus Christ, Moore pretty much lays it out as it happened; so when Bush says,"bring it on", or "now, watch this drive", that is Bush speaking, not an actor. Personally, I am glad that Moore exists as a latter day muckraker, the Right has held center stage for ever so long, playing fast and loose with the facts. One night of Fox TV with Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, Hume, or, radio's own Rush Limbaugh and his ilk, Matt Drudge dishing the dirt and the op-ed writers like Safire,Will, Krauthammer, etc.should be lesson one that Moore is almost a voice in the wilderness! We are in the midst of a national nightmare and it almost a catharsis to have Michael Moore around. Harry Tenney (electronic mail, July 13, 2004) Editor's Note: For related piece, see What
