George,

Does Tyler Sewell really exist or is he just a stereotype of Republican bozohood and "Pull up the ladder, Jack. I'm on board" philosophy? Is he a figment of somebody's fevered imagination to spur Liberal Democrats to greater efforts? A Democratic counterpart of Scott Leake's "Dems for Day" ploy?

Old Tyler is dead wrong about Abu Graib and other recent Rummy-sanctioned military prisoner practices not being in violation of the Geneva Conventions. They specifically are. Tyler should note that the most vigorous proponents of scrupulous U.S. adherence to the Geneva Conventions for treatment of prisoners are former U.S. POW's. They still deeply and quite properly resent North Korean and North Vietnamese violations of the Conventions.

I am sure Tyler considers me to be a heathen. No matter. It is pikestaff-plain and Doomsday-certain to me that he is a barbarian of one of the howl and grunt tribes. I still hope he continues to post to this site because he is the funniest Republican joke since little Jimmy Gilmore.

Enough. I am beginning to sound as combative as our Prez and former Andover cheerleader shouting "Bring it on, Choate!"

Best,

Ham Caldwell (electronic mail, July 14, 2004)

Editor's Note: Yes indeed, Tyler Sewell is real. A quick google search of my site comes up with 29 hits.
