George,

While I am not a resident of the City of Charlottesville, I work in the city. I was extremely upset to learn that my friend, Meredith Richards, had lost her bid for City Council.

This is a huge loss to the City of Charlottesville. Meredith is one of the best people I have ever met in my entire life. She is good, compassionate, smart, caring, a hard worker and truly cares about us "regular" people. There is nothing arrogant or fake about Meredith. She is just simply a good person with only the interests of the people at heart. To dismiss a person of her caliber on only one issue is truly heartbreaking. I do believe the city will feel the loss. She has helped me more than anyone in this town to build our union. I am glad she will continue in that capacity. I need her.

I wish she would consider running as an independent or as a write in candidate but I can understand why she might not want to.

It is a sad day for me and for the people in the city of Charlottesville.
