Once again, the pandering pretender goes before the American public to announce the latest proposal to debase our Constitition.

Probably, the first president in history to propose an amendment to deny fundamental rights.

It is not enough that Bush and his Right Wing allies want to litter the Constitution with amendments that inflame and divide, vis-a vis, anti-flag burning, school prayer, abortion etc.. Now, he wants to deny Americans rights based solely on their gender preference.

This hypocrite once appeared on the "Larry King" show to forcefully declare that social issues were properly the concerns of the states. Now, eyeing the polls, both his declining numbers and the majority of Americans opposing gay and lesbian marriages, this spineless individual decides it is just too tempting a political issue to pass up an opportunity to furthur divide the nation, energize his fanatical base, and garner a few more votes on an issue that is largely cultural and essentially harms no one.

Will it damage healthy marriages between men and women?

Will the failure rate be any worse than the 50% divorce rate occuring in "traditional" marriages?

Will incidents of spousal abuse be worse?

Again,I ask,where is the harm?

The issues that should concern Americans: health care, jobs, education, environment, security etc.etc. are made to take the "back seat" to an issue that is calculated to appeal to emotion and ignorance.

So once again,the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue reduces governance to the Dark Side!

It isn't a question of defeating this monster,it is a question of saving the nation and the world from this scourge.
