George,

Does anybody except me find it funny to hear the conservative pack, headed by George Bush, baying for a constitutional amendment to defend the country from being run by judges who "make law" and impose their beliefs on the people instead of letting the people speak for themselves? They, of course, claim to be trying to protect marriage from the barbarians and the Massachusetts Supreme Court.

I wish they had been concerned when the Supreme Court of the United States gave the Presidency to Mr. Bush, but apparently in that case it was all right for a little group of judges to impose their will on the whole country. I seem to recall that it was the will of the people, as evidenced by the popular vote, that Mr. Gore should be President.

Couldn't the Republicans at least try to be logical, for a change? Alas, that would probably be asking too much of them.
