This is difficult! There is a potpourri of reptiles, however, if compelled to make a choice, mine would be Majority Leader, Congressman Tom DeLay! ......His "snake in the grass" title, in my opinion, goes back many years!

His tampering with the Texas congressional districts, sending government agents to scout for the missing Texas Democrats, shady deals with lobbyists, sending thugs to disrupt the vote count in Miami-Dade, Florida following the fiasco of the 2000 presidential election, all have earned him this "nomination".

DeLay is an arrogant right winger who genuinely believes he is above the law and many of his GOP colleagues feel so intimidated by "The Hammer", they were willing to change their own ethics ruling to allow him to keep his "leadership" position in the very likely event he is indicted.

He gets my vote for this dubious distinction!
