Dear George:

I personally believe that they will break ground for my grave long before they break ground for the Meadowbrook Parkway. Possibly for the graves of all the City Councillors as well. Various groups have been kicking the idea around for close to 30 years, by my count, and new objections grow up to replace the old ones as needed.

If anybody is making book on the Parkway's existence, I want the latest date possible, plus 20 years. I rarely make bets for more than twenty-five cents, but in this case I'll make an exception and spring for a whole dollar.
