It sure is good to see The Observer return to being a valued voice in public debate.

Thoughtful editorials about tough issues might start keeping us politicians on the straight and narrow. This will especially be the case when a newspaper takes the time and care to think through an issue and measure fairly the candidate's entire position.

I, for one, am looking forward to taking heat, and perhaps some kudos, from The Observer.
