George,

Is the US military so naive as to fall for the idea that the Iraqis would rush out to greet the invading American military forces with flowers and champaign? What did they expect? Have they become as arrogant as their Commander in Chief?

Can they possibly have hidden from the American people their real thoughts that this is a great place to try out the new weaponry and gadgets that they've been stockpiling for just such an opportunity? And have the academies stopped teaching history and tactical maneuvers?

With all the money we spent in intelligence about this country and its Weapons of Mass Destruction, it seems implausible that we didn't learn that some people would fight invaders of their country, regardless of the name the invaders gave the operation, Iraq Freedom.

The thing I find most onerous about this whole debacle, is the wasting of the lives of young men and women and the good name we once had with some of our allies and with the rest of the world to pursue of some vague and ill-conceived notion of revenge for what ever the reason.
