Whether one supports the war or not, the tenor of the political, diplomatic and military approaches on the part of our government has been characterized by arrogance.

Making donor calls at the start of the war is pure arrogance and it assumes that we can't help but win the war decisively and quickly. The hubris on the part of this administration may be its downfall.

Historically, hubris tends to work that way.
