I don't know if you caught it or not, but Tuesday's Daily Progress article announcing Joe Lieberman's presidential bid contained an amazing sentence -- to wit:

"Lieberman, a 60-year-old centrist, had long campaigned against violent images in the media, and was a strong supporter of the Gulf War."

I'd like to think that this statement was written with tongue firmly planted in cheek, but somehow I suspect the irony escaped even its author.

I guess in Joe Lieberman's world, campaigning against violence is OK as long as you're not threatening to actually...stop violence?
