George,

"Gov. Warner has indicated that he might make an endorsement, but that none of the candidates is as conservative as he would like." (Tyler Whitley, The Richmond Times-Dispatch, December 13, 2003)

A note for the "conservative" Governor, Mr. Mark Warner:

"Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them." Nineteen Eight-Four [George Orwell, 1949]

I might add, this Blue Dog Democrat from the valley thinks Mr. Wes Clark is a conservative and he has my full support in the upcoming primary.

I am also glad that the Honorable, L.F. Payne is heading up the Clark campaign in Virginia. He is the original VA Blue Dog Democrat [as Virgina's 5th District Congressman in 1996].

Steve Sisson (electronic mail, December 13, 2003)

Editor's Note: Virginia 5th District Congressman Virgil Goode was a Blue Dog Democrat before he turned Republican. And the late Virginia 4th Congressional District Congressman Norman Sisisky was also a Blue Dog Democrat.
