It was my honor to serve on the Advisory Board for Teacher Education and Licensure with Graham. Virginia's teachers had no better friend. Graham advocated high standards for the teaching prfession. He advocated professional treatment and adequate salaries. Graham afforded great priority to securing a highly qualified teacher for every classroom in the commonwealth.

I had the opportunity to visit Graham only once in recent years. I will long regret that. He was a fine man and a great friend of the cause of public education.
