From what I have read, it appears that the University is taking resonable steps to date, short of closing some units. That may be next, perhaps. But that won't do any good if there is no rain.

However, one is concerned that new construction in the county, where wells must be drilled, is still apparently allowed. I do not believe that the severity of the ground water loss is fully understood by many.

Some have suggested that local government will have to act decisively and quickly if it intends to restrict new construction from drawing on what little water resources we have left. We are all going to have to work together on this issue for the greater good of the community as a whole.

As Pogo said: We have seen the enemy and it is us.
