George,

Now I'm just an old country lawyer, but it does seem a bit odd to me that our current Congressman is flanked by the same two gentlemen at both "Nelson Center" in Nelson County and "Water Project" in Fluvanna County [in his recent television ad].

I suppose it might be funny if it weren't for the fact that unemployment in my hometown (that our current Congressman has represented for 29 years) is 16.2%.

Editor's Note: According to Lucy Goode, "It was Virgil Goode's Amendment that got the $200,000.00 for the Nelson Center [and it] was Virgil Goode's amendment that got $400,000.00 for Fluvanna County for its water system." (Lucy Goode, electronic mail, October 22, 2002)
