Waldo Jaquith, who is running for the Charlottesville City Council, is a business partner with Max Fenton [son of candidate Joan Fenton] in a web site firm, Munk & Phyber, which is located across the hall from Gabe Silverman's office [a contributor to Joan Fenton's campaign]. Waldo operates his own premier news digest and comment site cvillenews.com and is the designer of Thomas Jefferson Center's soon to debut virtual chalkboard site. As it happens, he has also recently developed a discussion forum for the Charlottesville Democratic Committee. Alexandria Searls, who plans to announce her candidacy next week, has been chosen as the campaign photographer for Charlottesville Mayor Blake Caravati [also a candidate for the Democratic nomination], while Searls own campaign photographer will be none other than Charottesville City Councilor Kevin Lynch. Small world. Candidates Blake Caravati, David Simmons and Alexandria Searls all live in Recreation precinct along with current Charlottesville City Councilors David Toscano and Kevin Lynch and former City Councilor Kay Slaughter and Delegate Mitch Van Yahres and Rev. Alvin Edwards [both former Charlottesville City Councilors]. Recreation precinct is also the home of former Charlottesville City Prosecutor George Gilliam and Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Dave Chapman [both of whom were mentioned as potential candidates for the Charlottesville City Council in 2002] and of Erin Garvey, Charlottesville Democratic Committee Vice-chair for Publicity. Dave Norris, co-chair of Democrats for Change, a former resident of Recreation, now lives in Clark precinct and is a proud Belmonter. Even smaller world.
