George,

Jefferson School isn't a big issue to me but I don't want to see it sold or torn down. I think it is great that people care and are raising the issue.

Burley High was much more important when I was growing up. They had fantastic bands and athletic teams and was a source of pride to the black community and the city as a whole. We let that get away to the county.

A lot of other bad stuff has happened in Charlottesville because of lack of citizen involvement, like the widening of Locust Avenue, the bulldozing of Vinegar Hill, etc. I am glad that I now live in an activist community that cares and takes an interest in doing things right.

A legacy of the late 60's early 70's maybe?
