For the period between March 4, 2002 through April 26, 2002, Republican Rob Schilling received $5,050 in amounts over $100 from 13 contributors, $847.21 in kind over $100 and 77 unitemized cash contributions of $100 or less, totaling $10,715.21.

Seven of these contributions were in the aggregate amount of $500 each, including those from the Charlottesville Republican Committee, Hovey S. Dabney, John Pfaltz, and Townsquare Associates. Other notables contributing to the campaign included William Eure and Derwood Chase. Rob Schilling made an aggregate in-kind contribution to the campaign of $600.

Expenses for the period between March 4, 2002 and April 26, 2002 totaled $9,183.47 and included $2,678.10 for WINA ads, $1,380 for WCHV ads and $600 for Daily Progress ads (Report of Contributions & Expenditures for Rob Schilling, April 27, 2002).

For the period of January 1, 2002 through April 26, 2002, Democrats Caravati & Searls received $6,625 in amounts over $100 from 16 contributors and $3,830 in unitemized cash contributions of less than $100 from 76 contributors, totaling $10,455.

This total included a contribution of $3,000 from the Charlottesville City Democratic Committee, and two contributions in the aggregate amount of $500 each, one of which was from Main Street Retail Partners. Other notables contributing to the campaign included Preston Coiner, Chuck Lewis, and Joseph Teague.

Expenses for the period between January 1, 2002 and April 26, 2002 totaled $8,010.93 and included $1,657.70 for radio from Eure Communications, $472 for radio from WUVA and $3,523.25 for tv from WVIR (Report of Contributions and Expenditures for Caravati & Searls, April 29, 2002).

The reports above do not include contributions and expenditures for the Democratic nomination.

In the Democratic nomination process, Joan Fenton received $1,000 from Townsquare Associates, while Waldo Jaquith received $200 in cash contribution and $875 in-kind.

For the period ending April 29, 2002 related to the city council election itself, Townsquare Associates contributed to Republican Rob Schilling but apparently not to Democrats Caravati & Searls.
